The Interuniversity Centre on the Law of International Economic Organizations (CIDOIE) was set up in 2003 to co-ordinate the research efforts of experts and scholars working in various Departments of six Italian universities (University of Genoa, "L. Bocconi” University of Milan, University of Milan, University of Eastern Piedmont, University of Turin and University of Valle d'Aosta-Université de la Vallée d’Aoste).

Its President is Prof. Giorgio Sacerdoti of the "L. Bocconi" University of Milan and its Director is Prof. Michele Vellano of the University of Valle d'Aosta-Université de la Vallée d’Aoste. The administrative office is currently based in the Faculty of Political Sciences and International Relations at the University of Valle d’Aosta.

The Centre is open to other Italian and foreign universities with the intent of establishing close close relationships and scientific co-operation with the International Economic Organizations (IEO), such as the World Trade Organization, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. The main aim of the Centre is to promote highly specialised interdisciplinary research on the law of the IEO (both universal and regional). Studies are also financed by grants from the Italian Ministry for Education, University and Research.

The results achieved by members of the Centre and by the experts and scholars of high reputation in the field are presented and discussed during Conferences and Seminars, both at national and international level. The research papers are then published and made available to the Italian and international scientific community.
